Chris Taylor has agreed to serve as coordinator to organize and manage the sign-ups for this weekly task; we ask that individuals/families from the church volunteer to do this just once or twice a year. If you are willing to help ensure that this community-building tradition continues, please say “yes” when Chris asks you.

Potluck Gatherings with Pastor Eric
Over the next six months, the Pastoral Settling Committee will be coordinating a series of potluck gatherings with Pastor Eric where members can share their experiences and dreams for Brookside.
Each event will include up to 10 people and will be a mix of new and long-term members in your geographic area. We’re hoping that all members will take advantage of this opportunity to get to know Pastor Eric as well.
If you’d like to host one of these gatherings at your home, please let a member of the settling committee know what dates would work best for you. To ensure that each gathering has a mix, we will provide a list of members to call and invite, or if you prefer, the settling committee can extend the invitations for you.
After discussion at the May Council meeting, we found out how much toiletries are needed for high school students as we get into the warmer months. Therefore, we are requesting donations of toiletries during the month of June so that we can get these items to the teachers who end up spending money out of their own pockets because life in the classroom in June can be stifling. Most useful would be items such as deodorant, bar soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes and we’d like to emphasize that it’s for the benefit of area high school youth, a need identified by our teachers. Please leave items in the specially-marked basket in the narthex any time this month. Thank you.

Gearing Up for Secret Pals
It is time to sign up for Secret Pals. The Secret Pal program is a fun summer tradition at Brookside, matching adults and children in the congregation to share pen-pal letters. Contact the church office if you have any questions about this program.
Workshops Continue During the Summer, Too!
On June 11th we will start our summer program of multiage workshops for children 3rd grade and under, and continue the Unit “Blessings and Birthrights” for three more Sundays. For the rest of the Summer we will be learning about Jacob’s son, Joseph in a Unit called “Joseph’s Journey.”
Invitation to July 15th International Friends Event at Brookside
Southern NH University will hold a potluck lunch and outdoor games here at Brookside on Saturday, July 15 from 12-2:30. This event is part of their International Friends program designed to bring community members and international students together for conversation and fun. It’s so interesting to talk with these young men and women who have come such a long way to study in NH. And the students love the chance to meet Americans and learn more about American culture. If your child/grandchild were living overseas for a while, wouldn’t you appreciate local families extending him/her hospitality and friendship?
Bring a favorite dish to share, a serving utensil, and lawnchairs. Come solo, or with a friend/spouse or the family! If interested, please contact Debbie Donnelly at SNHU’s International Student Services Office so she can plan accordingly. Her work email is firstname.lastname@example.org and work phone is 645-9676. She looks forward to having Brookside members join in the fun.
