Brookside Congregational Church Auxiliary Services
Brookside Congregational Church facility offers other services including a Parish Nurse Program, Romanian Orthodox Services, Church Library, Pastoral Counseling Services, Community Groups, and Hospital Visits. We have outlined each of these programs below.
Because federal law greatly restricts the disclosure of patient information by hospitals, the pastor and church office may not know that a member of the church has been admitted to the hospital. If you are hospitalized, and would like a visit from the pastor, it is important that you (or a family member) notify the church office as soon as possible. Call us at 669-2807. Remember, hospitals no longer can provide this information to us.
Find books for all ages encompassing a wide variety of topics. Upstairs next to the Lounge, the self-serve library is open during usual office hours and after Sunday worship.
If you would like to donate $25-30 for a hardcover book in memory of a loved one or to honor a special person or occasion, please click here book form for the paperwork and leave it in the Library mailbox by the church office, along with your check made out to Brookside Congregational Church, with “Library” noted on the memo line. Librarian Sarah Merrill will select the book and a bookplate will be affixed inside the book noting the dedication.
Romanian Orthodox Services
St. John of Suceava, Romanian Orthodox Church, holds Sunday Worship in our Chapel at 10:00 a.m. It is a privilege to be able to serve the needs of a congregation of people who have recently immigrated to the U. S. from Romania. It is also, more importantly, a humbling experience to hear and to observe the deep gratitude and respect they show for the opportunity to worship God in their own language and in a sacred space.
Pastoral Counseling Services
Pastoral Counseling Services (PCS) offers psychotherapy, education, consultation and spiritual direction as effective tools to solve problems. The second floor rooms in Manning House provide a warm and safe setting for individuals, couples and families to receive treatment. PCS staff members also provide many hours of Community Education that offers tools and preventive strategies for life’s persistent problems. The professional staff of 25 consists of licensed psychotherapists (many of whom are also ordained clergy), administration, development and a grief educator.
Although PCS uses space at the Brookside facility, they are an independent entity from Brookside Congregational Church and any communication regarding counseling services, treatment, etc. should be communicated directly with them.
For specific information about their services, or to set an appointment, please call 627-2702. Visit us on the web at www.pcs-nh.org
